How Truvia works, step by step.

Buy, sell, hire, or deliver with a binding contract and a secure payment process. Truvia holds the money until both parties do exactly what they agreed. Here is the complete lifecycle, from first signature to final release.

Both parties protected. Every step documented.

Truvia helps people do business safely by protecting both parties with a binding contract and a secure payment process.

Whether you are buying a product, selling goods, hiring a professional, or providing a service, Truvia ensures both parties agree on the terms before the transaction proceeds. Payments remain protected until the agreed conditions for releasing the funds are met.

Ten steps. One protected transaction.

Follow the flow from first signature to final release. Every step has a deadline, an action, and a record.

  1. 01

    Create a Contract

Either party can create a contract on Truvia and invite the other person.

The contract states what the transaction is about, how much it costs, what each person must do, the deadlines, and any agreed milestones.

This binding contract serves as the official record of your agreement and the reference for resolving any disagreement.

You can create it in minutes.Define the amount, the deliverables, the milestones, and every deadline upfront.
  2. 02

Review and Agree on the Terms

The invited person receives a notification and reviews the contract.

If they agree with everything, they accept it. If they want changes, they can appeal and suggest new terms.

The other person receives the request and can accept it or propose further changes. This continues until both parties agree. Once they accept the same terms, the contract is confirmed, and both parties are notified.

    • Accept as is and move to funding
    • Appeal with alternative terms
    • Both parties notified the moment it is confirmed
  3. 03

    Fund the Contract

The person responsible for paying transfers the agreed amount using the bank details provided by Truvia.

Once Truvia confirms receipt, the funds appear in the designated recipient's Truvia Vault, where they remain locked until the applicable release conditions are met.

The recipient cannot withdraw the locked funds simply because the money has arrived. The agreed contract and its fulfilment conditions determine when the funds can be released.

Funds locked on arrival.Visible on the recipient's dashboard, impossible to withdraw until the contract is fulfilled.
  4. 04

    Track Progress with Milestones

For transactions involving multiple stages, the parties can use milestones to track progress.

For example, a seller can upload pictures of a product being packaged, while a designer or developer can share screenshots, documents, pictures, or videos showing completed work.

Each update provides evidence of progress and helps both parties understand what has been completed.

  5. 05

    Review Milestone Updates

The other party can review each milestone update and either acknowledge it or raise a query if something is wrong.

If a query is raised, the responsible party is notified and can respond, correct the problem, and provide updated evidence.

This helps both parties address issues early instead of waiting until the end of the transaction.

Early feedback prevents late disputes.Raise a query, get a fix, get back on track.
  6. 06

Complete the Contract and Receive Payment

When the product has been delivered or the service has been completed, the responsible party marks the contract as fulfilled.

The other party then checks the delivery or completed work against the agreed contract.

If everything is satisfactory, they confirm acceptance. Once the applicable release conditions are satisfied, the funds are unlocked and become available for withdrawal to an eligible Nigerian bank account.

Truvia then records the contract as successfully completed.

Dual confirmation unlocks the vault. Both parties must confirm, then funds release.
  7. 07

Open a Dispute if Something Goes Wrong

If the product, service, or completed work does not meet the agreed terms, the receiving party can open a dispute instead of accepting the fulfilment.

Both parties are notified, and Truvia's dispute team reviews the contract, milestone updates, supporting evidence, and the issues raised.

The dispute is assessed against the terms agreed upon by both parties, subject to applicable law and Truvia's dispute procedures. The outcome determines how the funds are handled in accordance with the applicable resolution.

Disputes are capped at three hours.A ticket opens, both sides present evidence, and a finding is issued against the contract.
  8. 08

Request Changes or Cancel a Contract

Sometimes circumstances change, and a party may need to adjust the agreement or stop the transaction.

Either party can appeal to request changes or propose contract termination. The other party receives a notification and can accept the proposal or challenge it.

A contract cannot be terminated simply because one party requests it. The required agreement and termination procedures must be followed. Where termination is accepted, the parties establish how completed milestones, outstanding obligations, compensation, and remaining funds should be handled under the agreed settlement.

No unilateral exits. Both parties must agree on how the transaction unwinds.
  9. 09

What Happens if Someone Stops Responding

Truvia takes contract deadlines seriously. If either party fails to respond when a milestone deadline is reached, without submitting an appeal or addressing the issue, Truvia will attempt to contact them using the contact information provided during identity verification.

The person will be asked to respond to the contract. If they fail to respond within three hours of Truvia's notification, the contract will be suspended and the case will become subject to the appeal and dispute process.

The available party will then see an option to request payment for the milestones they have completed. If they choose to proceed, Truvia's dispute team will review the existing contract and the work completed. The available party and Truvia's dispute team will prepare a proposed settlement contract documenting the completed milestones, the compensation due, and the termination arrangements.

Once the required parties have reviewed and accepted the settlement terms, Truvia will settle the completed work according to the approved agreement, terminate the original contract, and return the remaining eligible funds to the paying party's Truvia Vault.

    2.5% Contract breach fee
A contract breach attracts a fee of 2.5% of the amount involved, in accordance with Truvia's applicable fee rules. The fee will be applied to the relevant breach as specified in the contract and Truvia's published terms.

    Step 10 กค Breach

What Happens When a Contract Is Breached

A contract breach occurs when a party fails to meet an agreed contractual obligation.

Examples may include failing to deliver a product, failing to complete an agreed service, or failing to honour a contractual commitment.

Where a breach occurs, Truvia may suspend the contract and initiate the applicable review and resolution process.

    2.5% Breach fee applies
Truvia charges a contract breach fee of 2.5% of the amount involved, according to its applicable fee rules. The handling of completed milestones, compensation, refunds, and remaining funds follows the agreed contract and the applicable resolution.

This process helps ensure that contract breaches are addressed through documented procedures rather than informal promises.
